OK fine as long as part in conduit is ran in thhn/thwn and not ser. Might be cheaper to run conduit inside and stay in thhnI will be running the SER inside the house and stub it out into a PVC junction box and then change over to PVC under ground.

A lot of residential generators call for the wiring to be in conduit. I think this is primarily due to the need to have additional conductors (in addition to the usual 4-wire 120/240 from the generator). These usually include 240 volt utility sensing wires and generator status wires. I've always done mine in conduit and used additional #14 wires for the additional. I even had one with a 240v heater for use in cold locations.
