I just started teaching exam prep for our apprenticeship. We are working on Resi. Service calcs. In annex D ex.D1(a) the calc only uses the dryer motor va at 100% .In D1 (b) the largest motor va is used +25% for a total of 125% and refers us to 430.24. Why didn't they do that in ex.D1(a)?

I also agree with Brad (just trying to boost your ego, buddy  ). But I have a different reason. 220.54 gives us clear instructions of how to handle dryers. It says to use 5000 VA or the nameplate rating. It does not tell us to add 25% to either of those numbers.
