Ok I have taken this darn test 3 times and cant seem to get it right. I follow STEP by STEP in the book. I take into account the 75% rule if more then 4 and also find the correct demand factor for the cooking equiptment. Alot of these questions say DO NOT include the house load or the laundry.

So I add all the other stuff and omit the heat or A/C if it applys and I STILL cant pass.

Has anyone in WA taken the residential ADMIN test section 3 and passed? I have heard that you have to take a class in order to pass. Personally that is a rip off I think. Anyone know of a class I can take?

Please help.

Thank You

Mike

Re: Residential Load Calculations

To: msext, I want to reply to your comment, that you feel that it is a rip-off to attend a formal class to help pass an exam.
Personally, I feel quite the opposite. I am an instructor, and what I find is the following, I myself learn so much more when I hear the comments from my students. Some that when they disagree with what I have stated, then we can have a discussion, and what I find is that you can retain this information so much easier. You able to relate the discussion that you have had.
I am not trying to sell the aspect of classroom training, it is just that I feel, in a group you hear different opinions about an question in the code. I really enjoy the student that challenges me on a statement that I make about the code, and then I have to prove what I have just said.
I hope that this opinion mught help you in your decision about attending a code class. Good-luck.
