Question:

If I have a calculated residential load of 177 amps and install the main service conductors with 2/0 THWN Cu conductors, is this a code violation?

Meter base is labeled for 200A continuous load.

For residential work, you are fine with 2/0 copper. A 200 amp service can be sized for 83%. This means that a 200 amp service conductor can be rated 166 amps and it will be compliant
