What load do you use for general lighting load residential receptacles since these don?t follow the 180 VA like commercial receptacles correct?

So if there?s 6 receptacles per circuit, what load is indicated for this circuit?

On your panel sched you can show as 180VA/rcpt or calculate the square footage covered by the 6 recpts and multiply it by 3 and divide it by 6.

Of course for feeder / service sizing it shouldn't be 180VA/rcpt

How many sq ft does a standard 15 ampere duplex receptacle cover?

Trick question? Somewhere between 1 and infinity?

Dwellings are provided with receptacles very different than non-dwellings. Loads calculated based on sq-ft, and layout and quantity based on prescriptive code requirements.

If you could have a 10sf dwelling, it would still have to have multiple receptacles due to code mandatory layout requirements

I'd love to see the layout that fits permanent provisions for living, sleeping, cooking and sanitation all into 10sf.

You should see some of the studios in NYC :jawdrop:

Maybe not 10sf, but it seems so. You can cook a meal, sleep, sit at your dining room table and go to the bathroom without having to move much at all (no doors).
