Residential Receptacle Placement

Does anyone know a code section that mandates Receptacle placement 3 ft from a door?

No such requirement that I'm aware of.

210.52(A) would require one 6' from a door measured horizontally along the floor line in any unbroken wall space that is 2ft or more in width.

Not 3', but a receptacle is required within 6' of the edge of the door to comply with 210.52(A).

He's making a joke. If a 3' door was open 180deg, you'd have 3' of wall space hidden behind the door, then another 3' from the edge of the door to the required max. 6'.

I believe it would be the same consideration on the "dead" side of a sliding glass door.
