ok sorry dumb question, doing a residential load calc. The range in question name plate says 8.6kW and 11.6kw. my assumption is that those are for the top/bottom portions. Would the range be a "20.2kw" range?
Thanks again

I have never seen a range with two kw's given unless that is a 208V and 240V listed range. But even that doesn't add up.

Actually it does add up. 240 v for the 11.6 kw and 208v for the 8.6kw

240* 240/11600= 5 ohms

sq. rt of 8600*5 = 208v

Sounds right. Resistive power at 208v is approximately 75% of that at 240v.

8.6 / 11.6 = 0.74
