Residential smoke detectors

I have an existing home with interconnected smoke detectors already in place where required by code.

A room is being added to the first floor with a vault ceiling that is 12’ high.
This is not a bedroom or is it adjacent to any bedrooms.

An arched opening connects it to current living space.

Is there a requirement to add another detector in that room since the ceiling height change is 4’ higher than the rest of that level?

Thank you.

References are per NFPA 72-2016. Smoke alarms are required on every level of the dwelling unit (29.5.1.1.(3)). If the addition causes the area of the floor to be >1,000 square feet then additional detectors will be required, determined as the total square footage divided by 500 (29.5.1.3).
