How many here actually check a driven ground rod for 25 or less ohms? In tha last 10 or so years I have only had 1 inspector do it and he used a $2K digital tester.

They're down to $1K today.

We've had to provide these on school jobs.

Never. If we use rods as the sole grounding electrode we are required to drive 2. So no one bothers checking.

Ditto here. On new construction we never even use ground rods.

i checked the ground rods at my house for fun. but other than that i never checked it unless someone specificially asks for it
