I have a heat light that i thought had a faulty motor because when I put power to it the motor wouldn't run. After taking it down for replacement and futher inspection I found that there was a resistor that was between the incoming hot and the beginning of the element. I jumped this resistor with a piece of bare wire and it works fine. My question is do you think I could leave the jumper wire or can i put a standard 10k resistor to replace it?
