Most of us kill quite a few battery's in our line of work. And they are so expensive to replace! Is this another scam, or is it possible? Anyone tried it?

Don't throw away your rechargeable power tool batteries because they will not charge or hold the charge! You can now fix or repair your batteries.
Thousands of People Have Fixed Their Batteries & Saved Tons of Money

Just check your batteries to be sure they are Nicd.
New Life for your NiCad Rechargeable Batteries

Why pay $35 to $85 or even more for a new rechargeable battery when you can bring your existing Nickel Cadmium batteries back to life. The best part is that it is simple to do. Read testimonials from people just like you that have saved tons of money. Read Testimonials Here!!!

many nicad battery packs for common tools are just repackaged C cells. you can buy them at harbor freight and replace the bad ones in your packs once you figure out how to get them open.

its also true that sometimes you can electrically burn out the short circuits that sometimes fry out cells in NiCad batteries.

i have read elsewhere that batteries plus will rebuild nicad packs for you, but don't know that to be true.

it's probably a system to send short high current bursts through the battery to blow apart any filament shorts. If this is the case it's a short term (pardon the pun) solution at best.

Personally I have had no luck recovering old NiCd batteries.

Most Interstate Battery stores will rebuild them as well. I really like the performance of the new cells from Interstate.

I think a Dewalt 18v runs around $35

Thanks - that's a great tip!

We have a place, Battery Specialty, that rebuilds them. My work drill/impact battery rebuild was about $50. Company paid. My personal one at home needs a new/rebuilt battery and I'm a tightwad! So, I guess its not worth a try..........

Thanks to All!

I just took two 18V DeWalts to Interstate for rebuild @ $45.00 each.

There's a guy around here that "resurrects" his batteries by jolting them with twice the volts the battery is rated for. I.E. 18V - quickly jolt with 36V three times.

He says it works on a little over half of his batteries. He wanted me to build him a piece of equipment that he could switch from 12V-24V-36V. Never got around to it though.

I have heard that the jolt works, too. Hey, even if it only lasts for a 3-6 month period, it gets me that far down the road, for free.

Doubt jolting them works.. Most batteries are damaged from running them to low. They get what is called cell seperation. Everyone would be doing themselves a favor to not run there batteries all the way down. Some people think there is a memory to bats. There isn't. The only true thing is running them to low under load will ruin them. As far as a rebuild. Might as well just buy tabbed replacement cells and a nice soldering iron. Save even more..

The two pack at amazon is the best deal I've found.
DeWalt DC9096-2 18-Volt XRP 2.4 Amp Hour NiCad Pod Style Battery, 2 Pack for $115.00

including the 1 year warranty and free shipping.

I also found this "ressurection" for $12.95, I did some research and found this www.nicadbatteryfix.com for $3.99. I figured I could risk the few dollars.

Its actually worked for 3 of my 18v dewalts. Maybe I got lucky, but I'm a believer in the battery repair. They've been runnin strong for 3 months now, WELL worth the money, even if they quit working tomorrow!
