I have to do load calculations for a building that haves (3) retail spaces on the first floor and (3) residential spaces on the second floor.
The square footage for the retail spaces are close but not exactly the same, approx 1190 sq ft. The residential square footage are also close, approx 1190 sq ft.
By using the non-dwelling service load calc.I calcuated the min. size service of the Retail space 'A' (1190 sq ft) to be 175VA.
By using the optional (1) family dwelling load calc, (because the sq ft of each dwelling unit is not the same)Residential space 'RA' to be 110VA.
How do I calculate the service size to the building from the utility co?
Do I add up all (6) loads for a total of 855VA? Seems a bit much.
I anticipate using a sq 'd'(6) meter-pak center for the service entrance equipment with built-in 125A or 200A circuit breakers.
Do I size the service for 200A?
What happens if one of the retail/residential units demands more than 200A?
Please Advise.
