Retrofit cans for new construction

I'm helping a friend out with some work on his house. He's pulled most of the drywall down and we're now putting everything back. He's purchased retrofit can trims from amazon that come with a little box and driver and wants to use those w for the new construction. I've only used the 2 part system with the can for the rough and the trim for the finish. I do commercial work so a lot of this is new to me. Is it alright to use these retrofit cans like this? Thanks in advance

It's ok to use them but may be difficult on new construction to install. If they are they type that just fits through a hole in the drywall and held in by spring clips, you may want to just run the wire to each spot where a light goes but leave it in the ceiling/attic. When the drywall is up you go back and cut out the holes exactly where you want them. Then you just reach up through the hole and grab the wire. Wire the lights and insert the junction box & light into the hole.
