Today, I was asked if I knew how to reverse the rotation of a 115 volt single phase motor that does not indicate it can be reversed and I told the man that you can remove the rotor and turn it around and inserting it back into the stator housing and changing the end caps. Was I right ?

Not practical on any single phase motor I've ever worked on. There isn't room for the rotor fan, (stator windings are too close to the end of the case on the wiring end) If you had room for the fan, you would still need to reroute the starter switch wires, which you would need to lengthen, to the other end. It would be much easier, and more practical, to reverse the starter winding leads. Don
