I have a 3 phase pump that I need to wire to a reversing starter. Can I just wire the starters to a 3 position selector switch? Will the starter automatically synch so that it won't cause any damage to the pump motor. This is obviously new ground for me, so any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

A factory assembled reversing starter will include electical and mechanical interlocks that prevent the motor from trying to go Forward and Reverse at the same time. So, yes you do simply connect the selector switch to the starter coils, using the correct wiring diagram (which should come with the starter).

What you'll end up with is basiclly two contactors, interlocked to avoid simultaneous operation, sorta like a transfer switch. Two of the lines will be swapped on one of them, causing the reversal.

I have never seen a pump wired to a reversing starter are there multiple pumps involved one forward and one reverse. I would check that the application was correct and would make darn sure that my heaters were sized properly to cover my butt so the motor doesnt burn out.

Along with all of the above, make sure timer/timers are installed or suitable substitute to prevent starting in the opposing direction before the motor and pump come to a complete stop. Additionally there are not many pumps that will function in reverse, peristaltic pump maybe. At least most if not all centrifugal pumps will not function in reverse but might throw the impeller from the prime mover (shaft) probably resulting in severe damage to both as well as associated bearings. Check manufacturer spec for application you intend.
