rewire existing parking garage

I have been asked to just install lights in a two level parking garage part of an old hotel. they only want lights and the hotel rooms will be converted into personal storage rooms

they have no plans i guess i can get the original off of microfisch this building is probably 30 yrs old has been abandoned for at least the past ten years.

who all do i need to communicate with besides the normal electrical permitting div. there is no service as it has all been canabalized and power comes from our underground 125 KV sys I beleive.

I see nfpa 88a-1998 does this even exist anymore. I assume i am being asked to design and install all of the equipment. I have been told that the owner is pulling a roof and elec permit only since the whole building is for storage only.

been in the trade since 1972 and a master since about 1989 and this will be my first on my own no plans parking garage. i would appreciate constructive replies only, yes i do have a whole in my head

1) I would check with local building officials to make sure that your laws do not require this to be engineered by a PE.
2) Check to see about local lighting and energy requirements.
3) Contact local power company to make them aware of the project.
3) Pick a fixture and contact the local rep for help with layout.
4) There will be life safety issues that will probably have to be considered. Check with the local AHJs.
5) Are you responsible for access control or will you use a subcontractor?
6) If ventilation is required, you will need a contractor or engineer.
7) This list could go on and on. I am sure others will give their take on the project.

No plans, then most likely, they have no approval for the project.

After you get the approved plans, your first contact might be the utility.

Are you licensed to do design work in your state or do they require an engineer the seal the job?

Does the state your in, allow the building owner to pull electrical permits?

It sounds like the building owner has no idea what is required, I would have a chat, with the local construction offical, and get his view on this non planned project, before investing anymore time on it.
