When completely rewiring an old house does the ahj make a rough in inspection first with the light fixtures and devices not installed and then come back for a finish inspection the same as a new house? The owner told me in his county they want everything install on the first call. I guess he is to tight to pay me come back and install. I am calling for inspection mon. but left the wiring roughed in.

Every inspector has a different idea of what he'll let you do on a rewire. After all, most of the time the people are still living there too, so you've got to have some uninspected stuff heated up for them to live. I'd say it's best to check with your inspector. I normally do what would normally be "rough" and "finish" all at the same time, then take apart whatever he wants taken apart when he inspects (which normally isn't much). I sometimes have him in twice... maybe once for second floor and once for first floor, something along those lines. Naturally, if you're doing a service upgrade, that will be an inspection all of its own normally.

The house is vacant but owner has been letting some one "camp out" because vandals are so bad here they will strip the copper out fast as you can put it in. Thats the reason for the rewire. I also did the service upgrade to 200 a . I prob should have put the recepts in but I think the ahj will ok it . I dont think you need a license or permit to install fixtures or recepts.
