Generally I'll drop two supports off of the decking either jack chain or suspended ceiling wire...then either hit opposite corners or "y" from one jack chain to hit two corners on one side...then the other two off of the other "y" with jack chain.

In Rhode Island...do I need four independent jack chains to hit all four corners or is two jack chains on opposite ends adequate

Thanks

You should probably ask your local inspector what Rhode Island requires and if it's different from what the codes require.
