Where conduit is threaded in the field, a standard cutting
die with a 1 in 16 taper (3⁄4-in. taper per foot) shall be used.

How many threads on 3/4 rigid conduit ?

Are you asking what the length of the threads on the end of a 3/4" conduit is? Normally you go to the end of the die. Never measured it but maybe like 1-1/2" or so. Why?

1/2" = 14 TPI
3/4" = 14 TPI
1" = 11.5 TPI
1-1/4" = 11.5 TPI
1-1/2" = 11.5 TPI
2" = 11.5 TPI
2-1/2" = 8 TPI

All sizes above 2-1/2" are also 8 TPI.

The OP quotes 344.28 which has to do with the taper. Then he asks how many threads on 3/4" RGS. What's one got to do with the other?

As you've noted the first part is directly from the NEC which would have been somewhat easier to read if it were quoted. My guess is that since that section is specific about the amount of taper why wouldn't it also included something about the thread length.
