Does vertical outside PVC conduit joints have to be female to male (top down) to shed rain? Or is vice/versa also OK?

They do manufacture stainless steel unistrut clamps though. The picture has an obvious code violation regarding use of non weather resistant fittings for an exterior location. NEC 300.6
In most cases securement and support equipment are not required to be listed.Maybe. Is a strut strap required to be listed? Where does the nec require weather resistant fittings?
It doesn't matter mechanically or by code, I do it because I think it looks better.
