Rigid to support bell box

Hey guys I have job coming up to add a circuit in the middle of a concrete floor to feed two ice cream frigs. Concrete is removed for the drain going in and I want to use the same ditch and then they will fill back up with concrete and I will wrap with 10 mil.

Can I use rigid conduit as the support for this box? If so can it be one piece of rigid or two out of the box? 1/2" by the way.

How close can it be to the drain? I think right next if GFCI protected.

I'am worried the inspector will say it is a trip hazard, but it is right up against the machine, but workers will be walking behind the machine, to other equipment.

What code section is this under?

Just like in flower beds, you need to use two sticks into two hubs. I'd probably use an FS body rather than a Bell box for that sort of application.

Take a look at 314.23(F). You're limited to 18" above the last means of support which in this case would be the concrete. Tripping hazards aren't a problem according to the NEC.

Can you tell me if there is any thing in the code about tripping hazards. I had an inspector make me move a #4 ground next to a door thres hold, outside, because he said it was a trip hazard. It was 3" from the door, I needed to bond the water main to the service, he told me to go over the door, that would of looked real good.

Plus the romex under the eve needed to be sunlight resist. I'am still fighting that one. If the sun fell to the ground it might see a ray then.

The NEC does not address trip hazards, that would come from the building codes.

Second, NM cable (romex) can't be installed in a damp location (334.12(B)(4)) such as under and eve. Take a look at the definitions of location damp in Article 100.

Drive the ground rod into the ground so it is 8' covered.
