If there is, I want it. I've probably bumped into an old motor or an old machine at least once a year that I had to take to the motor shop to get sorted out. All the leads were just black, with no visible numbers anymore. It costs right around 100 bucks for the motor shop to label them, plus whatever it costs me to take the motor in and pick it up again. There must be a way.iwire said:There must be a tool for that![]()
I see, I thought OP couldn't read the PHead.mdshunk said:Anybody got a trick for when you can't read the numbers on the leads anymore?
That might well be. Since it seems his question was answered adequately, I just expanded on it with the next logical question. I sorta half wonder if the motor shop just doesn't take the motor to bits and physically trace them out?chris kennedy said:I see, I thought OP couldn't read the PHead.

The information in your post only applies to wye wound motors. Sometimes you will find a delta connected motor. The high voltage connections are the same but the low voltage are not.
