OK This is a Federal Pacific Panel that has melted one of the stab ins for the breaker. It is single phase 120/240 The customer would like to replace this panel. I was looking for input from you all. I have had to replace the Alligator Clamps on these type of panels in the past but never the entire panel. I do not see a way to do it without cutting the 500MCM Feeders on the side. However I was told Siemens makes a panel that has some kind of gutter on the side for risers. I know I could cut the existing panel away without cutting the feeders but the new panel with gutter would have to straddle the existing conduits. I was also wondering if it would be possible to just replace the guts? I am just looking for some feedback from somebody who has dealt with this before. Thanks in advance

I get the sense that the feeder OCPD may be larger than the bus rating of the riser panel and I don't see a main breaker. If this is the case, I don't think this was ever compliant and would not be compliant today for sure.
Most riser panels are available with main breakers for installs where the feeder is larger than the rating of the buss.
If it was my call, I would do a wholesale replacement of all of them as this would be much more cost effective than 1 at a time. And in my view all of them would need replacement soon, so why not do it in the cost efficient manner?
 
My first step would be in agreement with Post #2.. see what C-H can do with their retrofit panel program. Keep in mind on a replacement panel you might need to discuss some issues such as wire bending space with your AHJ.
