Riser panels

Has anyone out there replaced a riser panel in a high rise apartment building? Panel is fed from unit below and feeders passe thru inside of an attached gutter to feed units above. I've seen retro kits where you just change out the "guts". This will not work in my situation because the cover/door is broken and is the cause for replacement. My latest thoughts are to install a separate gutter to enclose the feeders, then install a regular panel. I would love to not cut & splice the feeders, hence the reason for the gutter, but I realize that may not be possible. Any helpful info will be GREATLY appreciated! :blink:

Can you take the guys out of that panel and add a new panel next to it using the old as a splice box? I have done that before

That would be too easy! The cover for the present panel will not close (won't pass inspection), so this is not an option. Thanks for the suggestion tho!

Once u take the guts out u can get blank cover fabricated easy peasy

I'm assuming just replacing the cover/door won't fix it?

Edit: The cover won't close or the door won't close? If its a dead front panel, does it really need a door that closes?

If I were a rascally rabbit, I would just love to tap my neighbors feeder running through my riser panel used in an apartment set-up. Jack there electric bill up.

Not it sure you want to do this if possible.

Ok in a hotel set-up where there is usually only one metered service.
