RMC rigid conduit - street lighting

for street lighting project, curious what anyone's experience is seeing/using rmc for under paved areas. nonpaved areas, i specify HDPE, but some clients have requested rmc for above. is this common? seems that it would add alot of cost?

Adds on the front end, but will it save down the road?

I have a bridge near here that I installed GRS conduit on as a 4th year apprentice. I drive by it at least once a week and it's still there.

28 years is a good life to me.
