I sometime use 250' rolls of romex and I'm getting tired of unrolling it by hand. What's a good romex cart to buy?
Thanks!

I guess that would be okay if all you did was new work. If you're also doing service and old work, you definately need something that will sit on the floor. I know that a lot of guys use Greenlee's "sit-n-spin" (cat#37218 ) that is mostly used for MC with NM cable also. That model has the problem of overtraveling, and whipping a loop down under the reel and getting all jammed up.georgestolz said:For new construction, I used and enjoyed stud reelers.
Is that someone you know?georgestolz said:What's the old duffer doing with that romex?![]()

It looks like he's installing it with a nice twist in the left picture, and doing the hand-over-hand walk-it-out method in the right one.

If I need an extra spinner, I screw a 24" 2 x 4 perpendicular to another 24" 2 x 4.
I then find a piece of scrap metal banding/strapping, cut it to about 18" to 20" and drill hole in center so that it allows an 8d nail to slide through up to head. Then screw the strap to my vertical riserto form an upside down U with the hole in the center of the U.
Stick an 8d nail through from the bottom, and bend a sharp hook in the nail - that's the swivel part.
Hook the nail over a piece of 12/2and tie it off to a rafter or door frame.
Waa-Laa took me longer to type this than to make another spinner!
From the French "voila", meaning "ta-daa!"Rockyd said:"Waa-Laa"
