Can romex be used in 3 or more story residential dwelling units? Not sure where to look in '03 NEC code. Please advise

Re: romex conductors

What edition has been adopted by your local enforcing body, Try 334.10 and .12 of the 2002 or 2005 NEC

Re: romex conductors

I am using the NYS adopted '1999 NEC.
334-10 is MC.

the residential units are single and two family units. some are 3 floors above grade.

Re: romex conductors

Romex was article 336 in the 99 try 336.4 and 336.5 Romex was not permitted in multi families exceeding three stories in 99.

Re: romex conductors

correct....336-4 ('09) says that NM is permitted for one/two family dwellings regardless the height of the dwelling unit???

The NYS bldg code classifies it as R-2 construction type. No mention of wire types to use.
