If this is in the treatment areas the answer is no, you can not use romex in this space, you have to comply with Part II of article 517 and specifically 517.13(A) and (B).

Can you run romex in a one story out-patient health clinic??? What code covers this ???

You might be able to use it in some areas of the building.

334.10(3) covers the general question of whether or not you can use romex in the building. The answer will depend on the type of construction the building is permitted to be.

If the answer to the first question is yes you can use it, then you go to Article 517 as this is a health care facility. 517.2 defines Patient Care Areas. It is unlikely that you will find Critical Care Areas or Wet Procedure Locations in an outpatient clinic, but the examining rooms/ treatment rooms would qualify as General Care Areas. Within those areas romex would not meet the requirements of 517.13(A) or (B).
