I have a customer who is hiring us to complete the service, shop wiring for a large wood working shop that builds cedar furniture. It will be an 800A service, single phase, 120/240. It is in a steel building and is in an area where there is no inspecting authority to ask this question. Another person was doing the office/showroom/restroom wiring. It is in a wood frame section on the right side of the building.(See Pictures). He has since been fired and they want me to complete his portion of the job.
He used romex in that portion. I've been doing this for 45 years and have been a contractor for 15 years and I'm still not sure about this situation.

Being commercial and industrial minded, as a practice, I have always used MC cable in any commercial situation even with wood frame structure.
The owner wants my opinion and is willing to tear out any of the previous work that has been installed. I honestly don't know if romex is allowed in this situation. Separate panel from the commercial side. The wood structure adjoins the wall to the shop on one side. There will be a lot of dust even though they have dust collectors. Can someone look at these pictures and advise if romex is allowed or do I need to tell them it's not? Thanks for your help.
