Will this be inside or outside? Was hoping to run 14/2 in 1/2" EMT for a 15' run. See nothing in 358.12 around it. Is it permitted ? Coworker says no, but I can't find anything to state it's NOT allowed.
thank you kindly
Indoors it's permitted to run NM cable in EMT. You calculate the fill at 53% using the width of the cable as of it were round. Was hoping to run 14/2 in 1/2" EMT for a 15' run. See nothing in 358.12 around it. Is it permitted ? Coworker says no, but I can't find anything to state it's NOT allowed.

And for the OP, Southwire shows 14/2 as having a width of 0.368", while Table 4 Chapter 9 shows 1/2" EMT has an ID of 0.622". So the fill ratio for a single 14/2 cable in 1/2" EMT is (368/622)^2 = 35%.Indoors it's permitted to run NM cable in EMT.
