Now that Romex has skyrocketed in price, maybe the manufacturer can afford to print footage markers on the jacket....why is this a standard on cat6 but not nm?
 
Well, if I had to guess on that I would say it’s the way it’s packaged, can see how much is left on a puck of nm because it’s not in a box like your cat6.

I've always wondered the same thing.

Our work around that we adopted years ago is that we use weight to determine how much we use. I have a spreadsheet that coverts weight to footage. It works really well for us. I HATED trying to guess how much NM we used.
