So I get that codes states cables must be supported every 54” and 12” of a box but it seems vague on what is acceptable as ‘support’. I’ve seen the Arlington cableway which is a trough type system but that’s not a cheap option to use.
Can something as simple as D-rings be used as long as they meet the 54” requirement? I’d assume plastic rather than metal if that method is used but curious what others use over staples/nails. The staples just add so much labor especially in remodel work that using d-rings or similar at the midpoint of the trusses and out of insulation would reduce labor exponentially.
This would be just in attic spaces with verticals being stapled as typical.
