I'm bidding a job (single family home) where they are using engineered trusses and joists manufactured by Mitek. I've attached an image of what they look like.

Does anyone have experience trying to run NM cable through these? Do the metal webs tear up the jacket? Any strategies for dealing with that?

Appreciate your help, as always.

Thanks,

David

....and if you can't be careful...wrap that spot with some cardbord and tape it in place...remove before you pull the last wire ;)

If you have to drill down you better hope that the engineered joist is not under the wall you want to drill. You will have to take extra precaution to avoid drilling them. In one sense they are great but in another than can be a royal pain.

Learn to recognize the sound of romex across metal, if you haven't already.
I have also used large staples as pulling points to keep it off metal edges like gang plates.
