The previous homeowner ran a 50amp circuit to an an outdoors hot tub disconnect using 6ga romex. It snakes across the garage, with all but 4' of it in PVC conduit. Then it goes outside along the side of the house, also in PVC conduit. The conduit ends when it reaches the deck, and then it's just romex stapled to the deck joists to the disconnect.
I know there are many things wrong with this scenario. Is there any way to make it right, short of yanking out the romex and pulling 4 new 6ga THWN wires? (I don't know if the stuff in the romex the THHN or THHN/THWN.)
