I guess I should ask. Does a 12 volt DC system need an EGC? Code isn't being explicit.

Because of volume production, I would think nm with ground would be a lot cheaper than nm w/o ground.
Same reason 48" fluorescent tubes are half the price of a 24".
I purchase this (or a similar prodeuct) one time for battey use as the specs said it resisted battery acid.
