I was looking at a project in a manufacturing facility that involves routing of some MV cabling. The existing MV feeders are IAC cable routed in what appears to be sleeves made from EMT conduit about 12" long with belled ends u-bolted to structural steel high in the ceiling. Has any one else ever seen this method used to route IAC before? If so do you think the sleeves were commercially purchased or made by the tradesmen on site? I assume as long as the supports meet minimum distance this method will comply with NEC.

AIR, supporting means are not required to be listed.

I've not seen that method of support but sounds pretty cool to me..

With proper tooling, practically anything can be made on site... but I'm doubting they used a non-hydraulic flaring or belling tool. :p
