We designed a rooftop unit (RTU) and per manufacturer it has a 60 amp MOCP. We derived power from local bus duct and provided 60 amp fuses in the bus disconnect. Feeder to unit was designed per manufacturer's MCA. When RTU arrived on the job it came with a 125 amp circuit breaker installed, even though the nameplate stated 60 amp MOCP. Client is asking if this is ok or not. As designed the 125a c/b would act only as a local disconnect and not provide any overcurrent protection. Is anyone aware of a code issue with leaving the 125 amp c/b installed or should it be replaced with a 60 amp c/b.
