RTUs built in breakers

I have a question that’s been on my mind all weekend. Some RTUs have a built in breaker size at 125amps, the nameplate(s) say max amps are 15a, 20a, 25a. At the electrical panel they have breakers size accordingly to the nameplate. What’s messing with my head is the 125amp built in breaker, should the built in breaker be changed to a smaller size according to the nameplate?

The oversized breaker is merely a disconnecting means so it can be larger than the OCPD ahead of the circuit.

Good point it could be a molded case switch that looks like a CB.
That is a good point but seems overkill to use a 125 amp rated switch for units that only need 20 or 30 amp overcurrent protection. Unless maybe the builder gets a great volume discount and just uses 125 amp switch on everything?

I do often see 60 amp breakers pre installed on units that call for lesser overcurrent protection but don't think I ever seen a 125 amp frame switch or breaker on one unless it actually needed to handle over 60 amps.
