Run overhead without conduit feeder

Going from one building to another outside i have feeder that is overhead SER cable without conduit. Can one use SER cable overhead feeder without conduit outside?
 
It will need support such as a messenger cable as Larry states, See Art 396 for aerial cables with messenger.
