We have a exterior retrofit job where we are swapping out existing fixtures for new CF wallpacks. The existing fixtures are not installed to code, i.e. using the space between fixture and wall for make up. I want to install the new fixtures to code by connecting interior j-box to fixture mount with a 8" rigid chase nipple. However, it means additional parts/labor. The consultant seems to think we can sleeve MC through existing conduit in concrete wall. Didn't think this was compliant. Also in order to use MC, we would have to drill a hole for the MC fitting, thus violating the UL listing and warranty. Is this allowable by the NEC

If I understand, you want to enter the back of the wall pack with MC cable, through a hole in a concrete wall and you want to make your own KO in the wall pack?
