Running circuits from one MDP to another

Hello,

I'm currently working on a project for a school where we're remodeling the chiller yard. We have 3 pumps in the chiller yard that originate in the existing MDP, the MDP is pad mounted and the conduits come into the bottom through the slab. We've installed a second MDP in the chiller yard and need to relocate the circuits to that one but are trying to re-utilize the existing underground conduits.

My foreman wanted to run LFNC as a sleeve through the old MDP to reroute the circuits but the inspector told us we can't do that. He said there's a way to do it but won't give us any information as to how it can be done without chipping up the concrete and rerouting them. Does anybody have any clue how we can do this?

I hope I've been clear in the situation and any information received is appreciated.

I don't understand what the foreman is trying to do with the lfnc. What do you mean by running the lfnc thru the mdp?

If the plan is to route conductors from one MDP into another to access a raceway I am not aware of any violation. In fact, 312.8 requires identification when you do so.
I would ask the inspector for a Code reference.

I suspect the OP is asking about disconnecting the existing pump feed in the older MDP and run LFNC from the existing conduit stub through the older MDP to get to the new MDP. I don't see anything wrong with that I have done that myself if that is the case.

I agree with @infinity run the raceway between the two enclosures if possible but sleeving it through the enclosure to avoid contact from live components I see no problem with that to get to another enclosure based on space restraints or layout I don't see an issue.

I did this once in a sewage treatment plant they had existing empty conduits stubbed into the enclosure, and I had to get shielded cable in there for a transducer or CT or something. Just felt better sleeving it through some flex to avoid any inadvertent contact.
