551.71 of the code says every recreational RV site must have a 20 amp 125 volt receptacle. Does anyone know why that would be required? If there is a 30 amp 125 volt or 50 amp 250 volt receptacle for the RV itself what would the 20 amp 120 volt be for? Thanks.
 
Smaller trailers that show up in a big trailer spot.
Using normal 120V appliances at that spot when no trailer is present.

I definitely concur with the latter as a concern... My infamous church ladies nearly started a fire at a campsite last year, fusing two #16 extension cords together by drawing 25A through them off a 30A/15A adapter:
