Has anyone had the chance to try out the new Ryobe 18V Lithium drill?
I had a helper that had one. Ryobi gets no respect from me in general, but that drill had some guts.

new ryobi.

new ryobi.

HI>> I have the new model & really like it for overall performance.. highly recomend for most all uses.Plus cheap enough to not have to worry so much If it breaks or U lose it??smile. Not quiet as gutsy as cple others for really heavy drilling but I like mine!!

I recently bought the kit while waiting for my Ridgid to be repaired under it's lifetime (seems like a lifetime waiting for it to be repaired) warranty. It's basically the same drill as the old blue/yellow one according to Ryobi, just new colors, the batteries though do seem to last a lot longer then previous ones. Only downfall to it, is the batteries do not charge outside in the winter, ie: below 40*, so the charger needs to sit by a heat source to warm up for a bit for the batteries to charge. I've drilled some small additions out with it and a ridgid self feeding bit and have had no problems, 7/8" up to 1 1/4" bits too. Not a bad drill, quite lite, but certainly not heavy duty. Oh and no Hammerdrill action on it either.
