Safe distance from wash station for electrical eq

We are installing battery chargers for a plant and they want a emergency eye / body wash station located as close as it can be. I was looking for some code direction on distance between EM wash stations and electrical eq that is not 3R of 4X rated.:-? :-?

There is no code rule that covers this. As long as you have the work and equipment space that is required in 110.26 you are ok.

If they are not performing battery maintenace. If they are not adding fluids an eyewash station is not required to be placed by the charging operation. If they open the batteries up it will them require an eyewash to be placed. Unobstructed access - can't go through doors. OSHA has the specs on this.

Facilities for quick drenching of the eyes and body shall be provided within 25 feet (7.62 m) of battery handling areas.
