Hi

I am trying to learn if its safe to connect a device to an AC adapter that has different electrical numbers/measurements/requirements. Could you please help?

I am trying to power a labeller device, the DYMO LabelManager 160. I searched for its charger, but the only charger i could find that fits the port has a different Measurements. The charging/power port on the labeler says 9V 2A next to it and the AC adapter says the output is 5V and then has a weird line symbol that says 3.6 A. They have some other strange symbols i dont understand too so ive attached pictures below.

Would it be completely safe to use this charger? Would it work?

And on a general level, when (if ever) is it ok/safe to use devices and AC adapters with different measurements?

There are strict rules on this site about helping DIYers do things because of the potential dangers involved.

Why not just buy the right power adapter? There is probably one available on amazon. They also sell them on the dymo web site.

If by measurements you mean the physical size of the plug it is only safe to use an adapter when the correct voltage is being supplied. The electrons don't care about the physical dimensions of the plug.
