safety disconnect

I have a three phase 600v 60amp disconnect that needs to be replaced. Can I use a 240v 60amp in its place. The equiptment is three phase 240v motor. If not why. Thank you

Welcome to the forum.:)

Provided that the 240 volt disconnect meets the requiremetns of 430.110, I see no reason why you could not use a 240 volt rated disconnect for a 240 volt motor.

As Chris states, as long as it's properly rated, no problem. With many manufacturers a 600v disconnect is only available as "Heavy Duty", whereas a 240v is available as "Strandard" or "Heavy Duty". You might want to keep that in consideration from an application standpoint.
