When in a sales role for an electrical sub and getting a piece of the work you bring in is your % based on what you closed the job at or the profit that's made on the job?

Depends on the deal you made with the owner

It is rather complicated for an owner to figure out and pay commissions or something like that. It would require more office staff hours to administer and the potential for strife goes higher.

Most sales people and PMs are on some kind of commission or bonus plan.
