Also in 1st pic set screw connector. And it is out of frame but I'd be willing to be that there is not a strap w/i 3'.

That second pic makes me cringe. The 1st one you can write off as an HVAC guy playing electrician but the second one is beyond the pale. What a hornets nest to try to fix.

I looked closer and now see 4 wires. At first I thought there were only phase conductors. If the grounding bushing is installed solely for bushing purposes (not grounding) does it need to be grounded? And the size of the grounding conductor also somehow swam by me.

I've always thought it odd that if that installation had no grounding conductor at all it would be fine (assuming metal conduit, properly installed fittings etc) but when you pull an undersized ground in it is a violation.

1st pic probably a wet location eh? Do they make screw connectors listed for wet?

Picture#1 I see 406.8(B) and 314.15

Picture#2 I see 110.26(A)(2)

Picture #3 I see 250.122(B) looks like EGC was not sized proportionately regardless of OCPD 200.6(B) could be a call as well.

Picture#4 I see 330.40 and could throw out 110.3(B)

Pic #3 looks to have a 10 or 12 AWG EGC bit small for the feed IMO & should be bonded to the enclosure.

I kind of laugh when I read how people here state there are violations, but do not cite the code. Yet, they scream bloody murder when an inspector does not cite code.

I see Greg, an inspector has cited code. Good for you Greg. Now I will take some time and digest the pictures to see what is what. ;)

What if this is installed in a damp location? We cannot see what is overhead.
GSTV03.jpg

This is a clearance issue as per 110.26(A)(2)

GSTV02.jpg

The conductors may be identified outside of the view if this picture. That is if the conductors need identification as per 215.12(A)(&(C)

GSTV01a.jpg

Listed fittings as per 348.6

I posted my section numbers in the quote...I am not sure if this will work.

Richard, how do we know that the EGC pictured is not a 250.146(D) install and that the wireway is not a 250.118(2), (3), or (4) install?

The bonding bushing has me baffled???
