Anybody know of a timer for a 240v 30a 6kw sauna? Or am I going to have to use a relay?

yea, inspector said the sauna needs to have a timer (mechanical or digital) to shut it off. Only thing I can find is rated for 20a so i'd have to use a relay since the load is 6kw 240v.

I'm with MPD on WHY you would need a timer, maybe a health department thing. As far as a timer goes, if you don't need it to be in-wall, a standard Tork or Intermatic 2-pole timeclock is rated for 40 amps on each pole.

don't know and don't know. my guess is a home inspector because the house just sold and this was a service call. i've never worked on a sauna before so i don't know what's usually done for a typical installation.
