At a buck+ per I wonder if there is enough labor savings to make it worthwhile.

I've used them before for double and triple decker trapeze work. I think I only pay something like 83 cents for them. What I don't like is the fact that they don't necessarily tighten up nice when they're square with the strut. You gotta get some pump pliers on them to get them that last part of a quarter-turn to square them up nice after they're tight.
